It's not a good fight. Khan has speed, but none of the intelligence or skill to make it matter. A round or two and Mayweather will have the speed figured.
As RJJ said, if Khan can get his old self back together, then he has a chance.
You think Khan gets out-boxed? Maybe he will, but I've never seen it happen. Timing beats speed, but the sheer handspeed of Khan (far in excess of Judah) should ensure it's competitive.
If Khan gets hurt, all that obviously goes out the window.
It's a misconception that Khan can't be out-boxed. He's never fought anyone who's that good a boxer, let alone one of the great boxers ever like Mayweather. Paulie is the closest thing to a truly skilled boxer Khan's ever fought.
I'd argue Garcia out-boxed Khan. He was timing Khan from round 2. Just because the fight ended early doesn't mean Khan wasn't outboxed.

It's a misconception that he can't be outboxed, yes. But it's not a misconception that it takes his man to do it.
He's fougth Judah, Paulie, Peterson, Kotelnik - All good boxers.
I wouldn't say Garcia outboxed Khan by any stretch of the imagination. He outhustled him and out muscled him though.

Garcia and his dad were in the corner panicking
His face was a mess within 1 round
Garcia landed his punch and it changed his fortunes
Khan however was making it look very easy up until that round. Khan got very ****y and paid the price, then got up and tried to brawl, instead of doing what he did with Diaz and gaining back his senses
He could have recovered from the first KD, had he just not brawled

Judah's not that good a boxer, he's always been speed and power and the illusion of a skilled boxer. Peterson's boxing has never been as effective as his pressure game and inside fighting at the world class level, which is why he's always fought that way since the Bradley fight. Paulie and Kotelnik are good boxers, but fairly limited. They aren't nearly enough to say Khan's incredibly difficult to outbox.
I stand by saying Garcia outboxed him. He figured out the speed and began timing Khan. If that fight lasted longer, Garcia would likely have kept timing Khan and beating him that way.
Im almost sick of ****ing the same drum on here, but this IS a good fight, competitive and exciting. It's a shame all of you who dismiss it wont realise this until the fight has finished.
You must remember, i have been working in boxing for over 20 years, i have far more experience than anyone who posts on this forum, this isnt a boast, it's just FACT. I find it exasperating that non of you can see the wood for the trees.
Mayweather vs Khan will be the most exciting fight Mayweather has been involved in since the Augustus fight. The first 6 rounds you wont be able to take your eyes off it. Khan will come out at a blistering pace and put it straight on Mayweather. The trick here is to not allow him to warm up. You dont get long so assuming this fight is made, trust me, for every second i've spent in the ring, every boxer i've worked with and know and for every promotion i've worked on, THIS fight will surprise more of you than any other.

Khan with a good game plan like combo potshotting and running might win him a fight. Thing is, his weak chin will fail him if Floyd brings the fight to him. Khan won't have any power nor would have the boxing intelligence to effectively fight off the back foot if and when Floyd applies the pressure.
Khan's speed means nothing. He can't fight win against best competition right now JWW and WW. He's better off going back to Lightweight.

Judah can box. He's turned from being that boxer-puncher he used to be, because he doesn't have much snap anymore. He's not a mayweather by any stretch, but then again, who is?
Peterson in mu opinion, is a good boxer. He's showed me a lot of things that proves he can box a little bit and paulie and kotelnik obviously.
I do feel you hold them to an unfair measuring stick though, as these guys are really good boxers and were in their prime as well. When Khan fought them. But they are obviously not up there with Mayweather.
Nah, Garcia didn't outbox Khan - he began to see Khan's susceptibility to the left hook and used it a lot. But he didn't outbox him in the classical meaning of it.

It is of course, not what I said.
Malignaggi btw is a very good pure boxer who would have achieved much more with greater power, Kotelnik is a good boxer and Peterson is a decent one.
If Garcia had Paulie or Lamont fists, I don't think Garcia would have outpointed Khan over 12. He managed to hurt Khan and that was all she wrote.

Floyd's not that good at bringing the fight to his opponent on the frontfoot, he looks awkward (for him) and even vulnerable at times (Mosley/Ortiz fights). He prefers to be on the backfoot, it would be interesting to see how he fared on the frontfoot against an opponent with greater handspeed (and maybe power) than him.
