Not with Virgil Hunter on khan's corner. Roach would have been more useful. Hunter is taking away what made khan somewhat great. Now he is thinking too much, hesitating a lot and still getting countered.

Possible Matchup: Amir Khan vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Prediction & Discussion Thread

I'd like to see Khan Vs. Ortiz after the latter's fight with Luis Collazo. After, Robert Guerrero could get the winner. The winner of the second match up, I wouldn't mind seeing against Floyd.
The thing is, the only credible fighters for Floyd at this moment would be Erislandy Lara and GGG.

He's never fought an overly good boxer.
He hasn't really been outboxed I guess - aside from against Peterson if you think he lost. I didn't think so, but he did lose a decision. I don't know, but how many times have we seen Floyd fight a guy with a big punch or a pressure fighter? Too many damn times. It takes him 2-3 rounds to figure them out and then he makes great fighters like Guerrero, Cotto, Canelo etc look like chumps. He would do the same to a Danny Garcia no doubt about it.
So all in all, I think khan is a decent fight because it gives him a new and different challenge.
Because who's the alternative?Last edited by LacedUp; 12-09-2013, 08:57 AM.

It's them who backed out in the Alexander fight and didn't want to risk Khan losing. They learned their lesson when they gave Garcia to Khan. Khan wanted Alexander. Who would duck Alexander? Khan would have beat him as he did Judah in a similar fashion. Schaefer chickened out.Last edited by Bullrider; 12-09-2013, 09:03 AM.

Thread has gone off on a tangent, but the point stands that unless Khan is hurt, his speed is going to be a problem for 99% of opponents. Whether Floyd is in the 1% remains to be seen.Last edited by Weebler I; 12-09-2013, 09:05 AM.

Freddie Roach said recently that if Khan can avoid "the big punch" (i.e. getting hurt) v Floyd, he can see him doing well. I think along similar lines about this one.
He's not really a good boxer. He couldn't even outbox Baldomir.
Malignaggi and Kotelnik are good, solid boxers but no where near Mayweather's level.
Point being, your point is meaningless.

His sales in Europe (****** fans) and most of the Arab and Indian Sub will bring in a lot. If this actually happens then I would love to see what Khan can do in the first few rounds.
Khan has a strong following from the Pakistani-British community. He also has a strong following from all stripes of the boxing community in the UK as he's able to fill out arenas and do pretty decent numbers - not all of these people are ******.
Interestingly, Khan has a decent following in the States and there's a perception he's liked more in the States. It comes at a time where ties between Pakistani-****** communities in the UK are at odds with the other groups they live amongst.
Anyway, Khan would be a good proposition for Mayweather but he doesn't deserve the fight. And his major downfall, that punch resistance.
