I think it's pretty clear to the large majority of ardent boxing fans that if this match-up actually goes ahead it will be a bogus bout with very little chance of clear competition and an obvious easy "Money" win for Phony Floyd.

Not so sure. There's a long list of fights like this - once highly rated but supposedly on the way down guys against can't lose champions - which had unexpected outcomes. I don't expect Khan to win, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Seen it too many times before - a flawed fighter with a unique talent having a one off night where everything goes for him. Khan's always had the talent to beat anyone, but gets caught out because of his chin - yet Floyd has one legit knockout in the last eight years (cheap shots while somebody tries to hug you don't count).

Take the KO away from this fight and it's far more even than people think. Only reason I'd give it to Floyd is that he's way better on the inside and will probably work Khan out defensively after a few rounds. Will be entertaining whatever happens in my opinion.

Khan vs Mayweather

You must go with Mayweather of course simply because he never lost..but
I like Khan because he has a good fighting spirit and he's very hungry for
respect..and he knows he could get a lot of it if he does well against
Mayweather,so he'll rise to the occasion.I think that fight would be fun

Khan is probably the biggest name they can find that Mayweather has a reasonable chance of knocking out.

And I'd be totally fine with this fight happening if Khan had fought and beaten Alexander. Instead, it's a farce. It's reaching too far, and indicative of how difficult it is to find a decent opponent at 140-154 for Mayweather that isn't under Top Rank (he's beaten all the GB ones).

Even the better 160lb fights are mostly off limits (Martinez is with TR, same with Barker... Quillin is probably a little too big and wouldn't be able to get below 160lb).

There is of course GGG. But even if you want to fight him, if you're Floyd, you wait until he's beaten a few more good fighters so that his name (and value) grows (I doubt Floyd wants to fight a 160lb beast though).

I hate to come back to it, but if there was ever a time where the Manny fight was necessary, it would be after Manny beating Rios handily. If that happens... it's by far the best matchup out there for Floyd, both for money and opponent quality. Previously, there were tough opponents. Cotto was a tough fighter in everyone's mind until Floyd beat him (then Manny), now everyone talks as if Cotto was 40 years old when Floyd fought him or they act like the fight was close. Canelo should show us that Floyd was just that good over his next few fights, as he looked brilliant against Trout (a very good fighter who beat Cotto and may beat Lara next).
