Name an over hyped fighter you knew was overated

how is Maidana overrated when there are so many on this site that call him a bum, and give him only a punchers chance against Broner? He's not even on people's top 20 of current boxers around here. He doesn't even make the "Gatti List", when he should have a couple times by now. Maidana earns every shot he gets. The guy doesn't get not one damn freebie.


here's a few.

Rios- Lost to Alvarado, and got the Pac shot...
Broner- Feasted on smaller men, didn't make weight, cherry picked Magic man
Ortiz- Lost to Maidana, quit actually, and beat a overrated Berto for the Mayweather shot. quit against Mayweather.. and went on to quit again against Josesito.
Juan Ma Lopez- Was destined to fall
Berto- He gave two people a Mayweather shot.. why? I don't know why
Guerrerro- Lighter weight guy.. moves up, struggled with Aydin, beat an extremely overrated Berto, and got a Mayweather shot...
Chavez Jr- feasted on no hopers for a long time.. Stepped up and got schooled.. Now he's a disgrace.
Alvarez-feasted on junior welterweights and welterweights... Beat Trout, and got the mayweather shot..
Bute- protected in Canada until Froch came along
Clottey- Had way more potential than what he became
Judah- rarely fought a disciplined fight, which wasted his talents


I still enjoy watching some of these guys fight, but they were all overhyped.

I do feel like a fighter should n't be shut out by a simple clinch, if you want to take Devon 's win away and give it to Maidana that's your choice but if Devon fights like Maidana he'll get KOed. Do you want a guy like Randall Bailey to be a p4p king just because he hits hardest?

I don't know where your coming from here. Holding is illegal. To not hold doesn't mean he would be slugging it out with Maidana. If holding was his only way to win, then that means Maidana was better and made him fight his fight.

The guy who lost by 10 points (11 on my card) was the better man? I don't know what to tell you, boxing is what you can get away with, take the Danny vs Lucas fight, Lucas fans complained Danny fought dirty but he was only penalized one point. If Lucas had fought like Danny and won you would be telling me to stop whining but your guy lost so it's wrong. If there was no clinching allowed in boxing your boy would be king but there is so live with it. I saw one of the favorite new fighters being clinched Monday, I was pissed at Spence for not fighting his way out the clinch. Do you think Manny would just let Devon clinch him? I doubt it.

I'll put it like this Maidana lost to Devon 10-0 and people are calling for Maidana to get Broner fight, he appears to be getting over rated.

Maidana wasn't ready for that clinch fest. He would be better prepared for that tactic now, I think. But then? not so much.

But he climbed out of that hole by stringing together two tko stoppages over two solid, sturdy fighters. Those stoppages are far more impressive than Broner's hair thin victory over magic man and a stoppage of the midget rees before that.

he earned every shot he's ever gotten... as I said. No freebies for Maidana. Unlike Broner. if he had barely beaten Karass like Broner barely beat Malignaggi, he would not even be getting considered for a title shot.

ghsot is a very good fighter if anything he's underated hell beat many top guys @ 147.

I will probably take major ***** for this but with a record of 12W 0L 8KOs I say rigondeaux is still overrated and is not p4p, I also think nonito is not overrated and beats rigondeaux in a rematch. JMO
