Denver's very own homegrown world champion "Mile High" MIKE ALVARADO continues the hard grind for his Saturday's fight against RUSLAN PROVODNIKOV. Alvarado (34-1, 23 KOs) will make the first defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight title against Provodnikov (22-2, 15 KOs) at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. This marks the area's first world championship fight featuring a local fighter since September 15, 2000. Alvarado vs. Provodnikov will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing®, beginning at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT. It will be the first time HBO has ever televised a fight live from Colorado. i am VERY excited about this fight... but theres a small chance it might not live up.

alvarados not ******, it is in his best interest to box. he might keep moving for this fight.

i believe provo is a bigger puncher that rios, so i cant wait to see what happens when alvarado gets touched.

Plastic workout suit? Oh oh...expect to see this man fatigued by round 8 and that could be Ruslan's window of opportunity. Have never been a fan of those damned suits.

Alvarado looked so damn sloppy and awkward when he was "boxing" rios. That shows how bad rios really is. Provo should have no problem with that.

Difference is he's flexing in this pic and relaxed in the other.

Sometimes they also grab older pics and post them up and we assume they're newer cause of the timeline when they were posted.

Alvarado is an ex wrestler so he's been doing this weight cutting **** for years, I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. There hasn't been one time where I've seen Alvarado out of it cause of fatigue.
