I think Martinez is too old now. He looked like crap in his last fight. If cotto fight and beats him he better fight ggg or quillin afterwards

This fight was legit before he destroyed Rodriguez. You'll see when he stops Sergio.

        Legit fight. 50/50.

Sergio aging and coming off injuries and Cotto is inconsistent. We never know what Cotto we're going to get. Shot Cotto? Recharged Cotto? New Trainer Cotto?

Sergio Martinez is close to becoming the new Shane Mosley. It'll be a good resume name but the dude from a few years ago and legitimate #3 P4P guy is no more. I'd pay for Sergio vs. Cotto with the winner getting GGG or Mayweather at 160.

Lol no he does not have to. With the Martinez fight is just a "let me try to make history and go back down".

Of course Golovkin would be licking his chops at the thought of getting the smaller Cotto in the ring while he(Golovkin) is in his prime and the much bigger, more powerful fighter. But I don't see Golovkin's team dying to go to 168 and calling out Ward, Froch, Kessler. Cotto fighting Martinez at 160 is already fighting more of a threat than GGG going up to 168. Keep in mind, Cotto started at 140, fighting at 160 is 20lbs north of his debut. Golovkin fighting Ward is a mere 8lbs from his debut weight. Golovkin would have to fight at Cruiserweight to match what guys like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto are doing.

How about he fights Murray, who's a big Middleweight, or goes to 168 to fight Ward or Froch? From what I heard, his manager isn't ready for Ward right now.

would i rather see serg vs ggg or quillen,, yes

but i dont mind cotto-serg,,,,, both will get big money and should be an entertaining fight,,
You make some fair points. I never thought Cotto was shot. He gave Trout all he could handle and he gave Floyd a tough fight. I just want to point out the hypocrisy on this site is all.

IMO Sergio got a little too much hype after the P-Will KO (just like JMM). He was still a top P4P guy but i think a bit overrated.

Cotto was prematurely called washed up and dismissed.

Good legit fight. Both are action guys who are a bit chinny.
