Mares lost because he's never been in a position where he's been hurt like that. He should have simply held on and survived the round. However true to his nature, he decided to try and **** his way out of trouble. Now that that's happened, I expect him to become a better fighter.

I wish more people realized that on this forum. Everyone is instantly overrated once they lose here.

There is a difference between a hypejob or getting exposed and losing,,,,,

hypejob would be a jeff lacy type,, somebody that gets alot of hype but has never achieved anything,, i think wilder fits this description

getting exposed: you have a fundamental weakness, that once is shown other fighters may be able to capitalize,, think pavlik and lateral movement hopkins did to him, and then serg knew the blueprint,, Or seth mitchell's chin,, once it got exposed as a weakness, everyone goes for it...

losing happens: guys like lucas, donaire, jmm, povetkin, salido losing to garcia,, these are not hype jobs or getting exposed,, they were just simply beaten by a better fighter on that night,,

some posters on here act like your a bum when you get beat, but not every fight is a draw, and sometimes good and great fighters lose,,,

I'm pretty sure Garcia is a hypejob now (at least by his groupies)

A lot of trolls weren't giving him any chance, but any real boxing fan gave him a solid shot...

What people forget is what happened in the first 6 rounds.

After the swelling occurred, which video evidence shows was accidental, only then was Garcia able to significantly break away

Now he's Floyd best opponent? Is swelling someone's eye one of his special skills, cause how the hell else is he gonna match Floyd when he couldn't even outbox Matthysse with out it?

And as for Mares, If you take a tune up and are supposedly top5 p4p and gets KO'ed in one by said tune up, that is a hypeejob, sure he can come back and win, but no top tier fighter should lose like that.
            Who got schooled?

I don't think Matthysse was overrated. However, he was considered by his die hard fans on a level of boxing that his God given talent could not live up to. Garcia was going to win that fight because he was a better boxer. Matthysse had the punching power and enough skills to change the outcome but he couldn't.

Abner Mares was never given the hype that Matthysse got. He was KO'd by good boxer with a high KO percentage. There is no shame in that. People are quick to dismiss him because they underestimated the guy that beat him.

Broner and Khan are on a different level. Khan erroneously thinks he's the best fighter to ever walk the planet. He isn't. Broner thinks the same thing too but he still has a chance to make it happen. He is a lot farther from being the best but in his mind he already think he is.

SMH get over it!!!!! it's a 12 round fight you dumbass!!

SMH you'll never prove it was accidental!!!! Never!! ''The truth is the truth and the truth hurts' That's why Lovci put me on ignore!! The truth hurts him too much! Matthysse has been saved from a similar issue against Vivian Harris and got a gift SMH!!!! He has a tendency to swell up and that's no ones fault but his own!

I suppose this was accidental too eh??
