Lomachenko looked excellent for his first fight, but the success Ramirez had, in between the moments where Lomachenko put his impressive offense on display, shows Vasyl's underlying weaknesses.
He lacks elite ring generalship, defense, and (the skill that most elite amateurs lack) inside fighting (ask yourself: Why did Rigondeaux get on his bike against Cordoba?). Salido's strengths and style would exploit those weaknesses. Of course, Lomachenko's counter uppercut to the body is already an elite punch and can end a fight (including Salido), but Orlando's toughness and underrated defense can withstand/avoid that.
If Lomachenko is trying to be built into a star, they should just let Salido move to 130 and consider a different opponent while he continues to learn the pro game. If not, Salido will stop Lomachenko.
