Oscar is better off being Mexican-American. Mexicans from Mexico are a bunch of haters. Most are bitter of their counterparts in America.

In America, people say they are Mexican, or Irish, or Italian, etc if they have heritage from that country.

But they're not considered that by the people from those countries. Sure, they'll cheer for them but it's not like someone from the actual country.

Americans don't get this so much though. Not having a dig at Americans. I love living here. Just pointing out a fact.

My family came from Ireland & I'm from London. I consider myself a Londoner first & foremost. Then West ham. Then Celtic. That's Celtic the people not the football team.

I will say this though, Oscar is more Mexican than a lot of Chicano/Pocho fighters; Juan Diaz, Vargas, Victor Ortiz, Chris Arreola, Robert Guerrero, ect.

There's a distinction when speaking of one's nationality and one's race.

Well said. And one's ethnicity too.

Most Americans have never been out of the country long enough to get it.
