This would be a great fight as long as it's not a catchweight fight and as long as Lomachenko doesn't have to move down to junior featherweight. This fight has to go down at the featherweight limit or Lomachenko will be at a competitive disadvantage in my opinion. In my opinion both of these guys earned the early respect they are receiving in the pro-ranks due to their particularly outstanding amature backgrounds.

There has been talk of eventually matching Lomachenko and Rigondeaux, but Lomachenko, appearing to say that he's not ready to move that fast, declined to discuss Rigondeaux or Salido-Cruz.

"You guys are running in front of the wagon. You are going too fast, making something in front. I haven't even had my first professional bout yet, and you're already talking about some mega fights. I know I'm already in front of the wagon, but you are even in front of me. I'm running but you guys are pulling me," said Lomachenko.

"I'm not going to talk about Rigondeaux. I'm not interested in watching [the Salido-Cruz] fight, and I'm not talking about it. I'm just concentrating on Saturday night's bout. So be patient and I will be doing big things, and you'll be witnesses when I do them."

How has Lomanchenko earned his respects in the pro-ranks when he hasn't even had his debut yet? People are hell bent on rushing this kid it seems, yes he's possibly an ATG amateur and is of age, but let the guy slowly ease into the pro game.

I'm not too sure about this. Lomachenko is 0-0 as we speak, and he's fighting a guy who is 25-3, although probably tailor made for Vasyl, still a bit of a risky fight for a debut. Arum needs to see how he looks as a pro fighting what? 10 rounds? Huge difference from 4 rounds with amateur rules. Rigondeaux is a whole different character, and for 12 rounds? IDK, to me it just seems like Arum is using Rigo's name to hype up Lomachenko. Let's not forget, Arum had a huge fight in his hands, Gamboa vs Lopez, which the fans were craving for, for like 3 years and he let it bust. All he ever did was hype one fighter up by using the other, with seemingly no serious intentions of making the fight. He let it marinate and marinate until he just overcooked it and burnt it and had to throw it away in the garbage. Now Lopez has been knocked out 3 times and Gamboa is no longer in TR. I doubt he puts Lomachenko in there with Rigondeaux in 2014.

"The biggest transition will the timing, and how to prepare yourself not just for three rounds, but for 10 rounds. How to save yourself for later rounds. That's probably the biggest transition, managing yourself to that timing," said Lomachenko. "As an amateur, you have to do a lot right from the start, but as a professional, I can be calmer and take a little more time. This is the opportunity that I want, and I can't predict what's going to happen."

Although Lomachenko wants a knockout, he won't force it.

just to let some of yall know and some here will be shocked lol ... this man has fought without headgear about 6 times already ... each gone 5 rounds didnt knock nobody out but he's dominated and won ... now going to 12 rounds with the salidos of the world and rigo hmmm that's just to damn quick and also career suicide
