Probably a mistake putting Ortiz in there with Molina...Ortiz gets trouble from iron willed opponents like this. It is possible that he could knock Molina down with a well placed bullrush counter.
Soto Karass gives Thurman a...competitive fight before getting knocked out late. Maybe even more of a fight than Thurman's last opponent. Thurman's previous opponent was the toughest I've seen him up against so far. The guy wasn't the least bit intimidated or in awe of Thurman's relutation, and even had One Time backing up. You could even make the argument that the guy was winning the fight by a round or two before Thurman caught him.Comment

I absolutely agree!!! I usually never miss a PPV but Broner vs Maidana GTFOH!!! I'll watch SNL that night. And catch the fight free the next day. We the buying public have to take a stand and let them know we will not just buy anything. We haven't even seen broner get tested yet and I refuse to pay $60 to see a sparring session. And that undercard is really not that impressive. Ortiz vs Molina...lol Ortiz will break under Molina's pressure. Now if the headline would have been Thurman vs Broner then we cooking with gas. Right now they just blowing smoke. and it ain't even the good stuff it's cigarette smoke!!!Comment

This isn't about Broner being a PPV star now. Its about putting in the minds' of comsumers that you're gonna have to pay to see him fight from now on. Very similar to Floyd's first PPV against Gatti. Gatti was a bigger draw than Maidana. But it wasn't like he was a crossover guy. But Broner-Maidana isn't near the mismatch Floyd-Gatti was.Last edited by insaneboxingfan; 10-11-2013, 06:10 PM.Comment

With Judah/Paulie a week before I think the winner of that takes on Broner if he wins, Maidana wins then he's setup nicely for a Mayweather bout especially if Maidana can win by KO.
Force feeding Molina to Ortiz, if they think Ortiz still has the goods will setup a nice match-up of Ortiz/Canelo for the IBF 154lbs belt. Molina wins, I think he becomes a little stagnant and looks at the Vanes/Demetrius winner or possibly Trout.
Thurman is still in the building stages and he looks like a dangerous fighter, so most opponents unless the money is right and at this stage Thurman can't draw the money to face name-opposition. But I'm sure a Thurman/Berto fight would be next if he crushes Soto Karass.
As for Angulo, I think he gets the Trout/Lara winner a week before if Angulo wins the fight. GBP put some good opposition in front of their fighters but not enough to make it scary to their plans for the future. Broner/Maidana is a toss-up to me. Broner wins, he starts building his superstar-potential, Maidana wins, he's gonna get to fight Floyd because people view Broner as "Little Brother" and that will sell.
GBP is smart, so is Top Rank, look how they just revitalized the career of Miguel Cotto by putting him in the ring with an ESPN2 FNF fighter who lost a decision to Austin Trout. Miguel crushed that fool and looked like his old self.Comment
