He ALTERED the colors which YES I do have a problem with. We can both agree, as this conversation shows, everyone has different beliefs and priorities. He's basically telling everyone that his sexuality is bigger or more important than other people's beliefs of altering the flag. Who's to say what's more important? I was raised with nothing but ****phobes my entire life. My father, uncle hated gays and I watched as my father beat a gay man in a Mexican supermarket. He knocked the dudes teeth out, the police got there and laughed about it as they called the gay dude a "pinche maricon" and said he deserved it.

I agreed because I didn't know any better and that was the culture I was brought up in. In time though, I educated myself and realized everything they said about gays was a lie.

None whatsoever man, the Mexican flag is not sacred, neither is the PR one. Flags represent countries, what are countries? They are a collection of people. Who are those people in those countries? Gay, straight, religious, atheists, transgendred, black, white etc....

So if you find it offensive, then I'm truly sorry for your ignorance. (I dont' mean that as an insult) If a Mexican boxer did that to the Mexican flag, he would probably be killed, but that because Mexico in this regard is even more ass backwards than PR.

i dont see what the big deal is. imo its not about creating publicity for himself but the gay rights movement and if he sells a few extra ppvs and makes some more money for himself thats just a plus.

having a world champion in boxing would be big for the gay rights movement as it shatters a lot of negative stereotypes. cruz recognizes this and is taking the opportunity to do some good.

I was ridiculed, bullied and made fun of. It was rough because we were the only spanish people on my block. My flag is important because it reminded me of the people that I loved back home. I moved here with almost no family, my father, grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins all back home. I wore my flag with pride and it means a lot to me. That's all I'm saying.
