Cottto is my favorite fighter but I can't agree more with Sr. Mayweather. As great as my boxing idol looked, he did it against a fighter who was going to lose regardless of which world class version of Cotto show up. The good news thou, is that Cotto's great performance last saturday automatically reinserts him in the picture for great fights against the top of the crop of the sport. And if there's something Miguel Cotto proved last weekned was that no C-, B- level fighter has what it takes to come close to beat him at the moment. Only the elite level from 147 to 160 has was it takes to make it competitive against him.

Ironically, Cotto's resurrected sharped explosiveness added to the wealth of boxing experience he has acquired since the first Margarito fight puts him very close to Mayweather's elite level. Laugh all you want about my personal statement, but I haven't seen Cotto so explosive, confident, sharp and aggresive since he got beat up by the Man with Plastered Hands. It was that version of Cotto, and no the version that Mayweather fought, that people felt had what it took to beat him. DOnt be fool by Mayweather's misleading opinion of Cotto's performance. He better than anyone knows about boxing and he saw how sharply loose Cotto's technique looked. ALl Miguel Cotto needs to do now it's put his new reincarnated form against the likes of Canelo, Martinez, and Trout to demand a rematch against the P4P king of the sport.

Can't wait! May 2015: Miguel Cotto vs Floyd Mayweather: The Real Fight.

We are talking NSB here , its full of kids that dont know sht about what they are looking at , its all about excitement to them , boxing is lost in the bash for kid fanboys , they dont care about classes and they dont understand the classes , they dont see how bad one guy is so long as the other bashes him , to them there is only ever one guy in the fight and they dont see anything else .

You watch when Manny slaughters Rios , straight after it will be NSB raining how Manny is going to KO the world .

"He needs to fight somebody." Totally agree, Cotto hasn't earned a shot at the P4P king. When he beats Sergio, that will change.

Cotto beat up Rodriguez but honestly he was all offense and very open plenty of times in that fight and can not fight like that against elite fighters

Rodriguez is not an elite fighter by any means, but to call him D level is a little harsh.

Well it was within Cotto's skill set and his ability to do it without Freddie but it was Roach who told Cotto he wanted him aggressive and throwing them body shots, going for the kill. Cotto probably would have dominated him regardless but it was because of Freddie's insistance on aggression that Cotto the job done like that. A fresh camp and team can get a fighter enthusiastic again and that can count for a lot too. Freddie is a HOF trainer and while he wouldn't be my choice as coach for Miguel he can bring a lot to the table for him. I really hope it works out with them, they seem to have gelled well so far.

Personally i liked the Pedro Diaz partnership and thought the loss they had was just an off night and a styles and size clash against a very good fighter and classy guy in Austin Trout. But if somethings not right there in camp or its a personal thing then u gotta assume Miguel knows better than us whats best for him and his career.

I'm all over a Mayweather rematch, i scored the 1st a draw though i understand most felt Floyd took it but either way u had to admit he tested Floyd and it was a great fight! Canelo? I'd take that too, great fight and tough pick! Sergio? Cotto would be the dog but id give him a shot at the win given Sergio's hands down style, proneness to injury and age.
If Cotto wants a title at a 4th weight class though he best not pull some catchweight **** because it was not cool when Manny did it to him
