Historically, all of Marquez' losses have been due in part of his reluctance, in engaging his opponents by being the aggressive fighter and also his low punch volume. It's what caused him those two losses to Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Chris John and Freddie Norwood. Likewise, he didn't look very good against Derrick Gainer either for those same reasons.
Granted many of those decisions were disputed; However, typically most judges favor the busier fighter in close fights. If Marquez has any chance of defeating Timothy Bradley outside of a one punch KO, then he is going have to be more aggressive by engaging Tim and forcing him into a very fast-paced fight in order to win; Other than that he loses on points.
