"The one thing I was taught with the Mayweather fight is
not to give any advantages in weight, but do [my fights] in
my actual division. [Martinez] is feasible, because
he stated that he has no problem to drop under the
middleweight limit of 160-pounds, if necessary."

I still can't make sense of the hypocrisy in the statement. So you won't cut weight but expect Sergio to because he stated he would just like you did before?

Lat I remember, Martinez said he'd only fight Canelo at 160 just this year.

This was from Team Martinez earlier this year:

"And I don't think Canelo should mention Martinez's name
unless he truly intends to fight him. The fight would also
have to happen at 160. The only boxer Martinez would fight
at 154, is Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    , who Martinez considers to
be the number one fighter in the sport pound-for-pound.
Martinez would have no problem beating an undefeated
Mexican fighter, on Mexican Independence Day, for the
    second consecutive year."

The same Martinez team (later this year) said Martinez will return in spring 2014... (IF he ever returns...)

Exactly lol. Lara almost got ktfo by Angulo and got dropped 2 times in the fight, and people are praising his performance like he wiped the floor with him. So for Lara, Angulo isn't a tune-up, but for Canelo it is?? Angulo isn't a tune-up, I actually it is almost a 50/50 fight for Canelo since Canelo tends to gas-out, which you CAN'T do with a bigger pressure fighter like Angulo because he'll knock you out. I personally think he should fight Carlos Molina for the title, then fight Angulo, then Lara/Cotto if he beats Angulo, since Carlos Molina's boring ass will probably lose against Canelo because he is there to be hit and has no power whatsoever and Canelo's flashy punches will get the judges attention and win him the rounds.

But seriously, Canelo v Cotto is a must at 154, forget all this Martinez talk. He is too big and too good for them.

I reckon Canelo will probably fight a couple fringe contenders or go for whoever has the other belt.

Personally, I'd like to see Canelo v Trout 2 and then cap the year off against Cotto.

Not once did I see Lara hurt by Angulo. As a matter of fact, after the KDs he completely dominated those rounds. And in the end the one that quit was Angulo.

if cotto and martinez are more interested to fight each other, canelo is left without much option unless he wants to take some risks with much less money. lara and molina or even a rematch with trout are all risky fights for him. not a lot of soft touches for him at 154 unless he drags a welterweight again to 154. maybe he'll fight a slow-ass angulo but if angulo catches him he could get ko'ed.

Canelo is Mexican and should fight on the Mexican holidays, why is that so difficult for you to understand? Again mayweathers can fight on feb on the Madison square gardenand sell it out, then he can take all the credit.
