I don't know about the next big thing just yet..He looks solid tho,I need to see a lil more before I make my judgement on him..I'd like to see him fight a hard pressure fighter, like Angulo or Kirkland..He did a great job yesterday, but I would say it's too early to tell what Andrade is..

You don't think Andrade had anything to do with that~
I have no idea, other than an offensive flurry I think in the 6th Andrade didn't really get too much going in terms of effective offense, the two fighters looked mediocre and both were very inconsistent so it was up to Vanes in a championship fight to step it up and he failed to dropping what I saw as a close decision.

He's good, but I don't think he gets past anyone who knows how to come forward and initiate action. Vanes would have had a hayday connecting if he knew how to throw that right hand straight when Andrade would dip back, instead of looping it out of frustration.

Yeah but he's not willing to stand in front of anybody the way Andrade is. Not even close, Dirrell is a track star. He's not willing to use his offense much

He got jabbed a lot in every round and Andrade mixed in some hooks and straights.

One guy was doing something while one guy was doing nothing. 1 is greater than 0 and not all those rounds were 1s.

Vanes was getting smacked around clearly, while not doing anything or being able to do anything about it.

The last couple rounds yes because Vanes just shutdown which is what made it so close but even in looking bad it was his first big step up who knows maybe he will have a better showing next time out.

much sharper puncher, was dirrell. dirrell was overall a much more talented fighter.

andrade's best attribute is his size, followed by his speed. chad dawson may end up being the most appropriate comparison.

I think Andrade has really good hand speed and his jab is really good. His straight left is alright but his right hook needs to be tighter, some upper cuts would be nice also considering most his punches will be coming over the top that change of eye level would be a good idea. His body work also left something to be desired

All the knocks I see about balance and how he fights are exactly what I saw about Dirrell, and like Dirrell he is one tall lanky dude for his weight class that likes to fight from distance. He also did a good job keeping a good distance on Vanes who is pretty big also and he didn't fall in all that much there were a few clinches but not that many.

i don't agree with any of this at all, and i've been watching andrade since he turned pro. dirrell had much more sophisticated offense, and better physical attributes in terms of power and speed.

I think speed and power they are comparable, although in terms of raw power Dirrell has the edge as he is the bigger guy so his ability to hurt guys even tough ones was better.

To me they are both similar strictly outside guys with not much on the inside.

I watched a lot of Dirrell he was my guy of that crop, I think Andrade is capable of similar stuff hopefully more considering how Dirrell turned out.
