Agree. He's good , but not particularly impressive. He didn't do himself any favor by talking such a big game prior to the fight.

He is not a guy that overly looks to press home his advantages, and is comfortable taking his win on the cards, although that one card for Vanes may cause a bit more urgency for him. He reminds me a lot of Andre Dirrel but a bit more offensively inclined

less talent and offensive skill than dirrell. maybe a bit more solid mentally, though, and much more consistent.

dirrell had great handspeed and very good power. he hurt froch, abraham, who are two seriously durable guys.

No it wasn't that fight wasn't close one guy clearly was doing more in pretty much every round.

I think he has just as much offensive skill as Dirrell, Andrade has power when he sits on his shots and he hurt Vanes a couple times. I think Andrade has really good hand speed and his jab is really good. His straight left is alright but his right hook needs to be tighter, some upper cuts would be nice also considering most his punches will be coming over the top that change of eye level would be a good idea. His body work also left something to be desired

All the knocks I see about balance and how he fights are exactly what I saw about Dirrell, and like Dirrell he is one tall lanky dude for his weight class that likes to fight from distance. He also did a good job keeping a good distance on Vanes who is pretty big also and he didn't fall in all that much there were a few clinches but not that many.

Activity is not a scoring criteria, I saw alot of fast flashy punches from Andrade missing or being blocked/partially blocked and while Vanes was waiting too much he landed hard and flush when he landed. This was a razor close fight where I would have been fine with a draw or either fighter winning close, the same with Vanes/Lara.

I didn't see Vanes land anything better than Andrade in any round with the exception of 1 punch in round 1. You act like Vanes was landing clean, the same thing you said about Andrade who did land some clean stuff in every round also can be applied to the meager amount of punches Vanes landed~

He got out thrown, out landed and Vanes didn't land quality shots, it wasn't close and it wasn't hard to score.

I saw quite a few rounds where it happened then Vanes kind of just shut down in the later part of the fight and wasn't doing much if you think Andrade won that is ok but no one really clearly showed to be the better fighter to me.

Dirrell was always a much sharper, more fluid boxer than Andrade could ever hope to be. Andrade is more like a poor man's Chad Dawson with even worse footwork.

Why do you think Vanes closed down? And was running when he clearly needed to win the closing rounds?

You don't think Andrade had anything to do with that~

I can hear someone say Andrade won't be the man or might lose to better fighters than Vanes but I can't hear to anyone say he didn't clearly prove he was better than Vanes because that is exactly what that fight showed.

And Vanes is not an easy guy to look good against and Andrade made that fight very clear cut.
