There is a 3rd option for Lomachenko title fight - WBA champion Nicholas Walters, whom Top Rank signed recently.

That's what HE is determined to do and I expect that Arum got him to do a little hedging by persuading him that they should wait and see how he does in his first fight. To win that against a good fighter with a good record and 26 pro fights will be a huge achievement by itself.
Well put it this way, if Arum didn't think he was capable he wouldn't let him take the fights. Btw, I didn't say he was rushing him. I think he's agreeing to move him along on in a manner commensurate with his level of ability.

Ya Lomachenko is the one who wants it and he signed with Top Rank because they could make it happen for him. Only one guy Muangsurin is the record holder.

Lomanchenko could be a potential all-time great within 20 fights!

Sorry Weebler, I didn't make myself clear. The poster immediately before you said that he was being rushed. And with your comment I thought I'd reply to both of you at the same time when I said "You're both wrong". . Again apologies.

Let's see what happens. I've seen his amateur bouts, he's a good boxer, but this is the pros and unlike the amateurs there's a higher chance that one punch can change the whole fight. If he's able to do what he wants to do then he deserves a lot of praise.

I recall looking it up when Lomachenko made his statement. I was just confirming what I'd already read a couple of years back. There are two who did it in 3. The other I think is from Thailand "Veraphol Sahaprom..." According to the internet.

He looks exceptional but yeah, I'm a little bit nervous about his choice. Still, a loss won't kill him, he'd just have to re-group.
