  • Rewatched Ali vs. Foreman...53 Times Ali clinched and held Foremans head down.

And he is called a boxing genius. He held, clinched, used the ropes to gain momentum to push. Leaned on loose ropes. 22 times in round 3 he put his weight on the back of Foremans neck. Wouldnt even stand in the middle of the ring until his plan was over. But hes a boxing genius. No one else can do anything similar or they are cheaters.

I personally think Wlad respected Povetkins power too much. I think he is also too afraid of losing. I think he has a slight stamina problem...but at his height and weight its understandable. But dont act like its some crime when older fighters especially do it all the time and have done it for decades.

The problem stems from Wlad having too much to lose. Its Peyton manning sliding 2 yards in front of the first down. Too much is at stake to lose so he is too conservative. no one can challenge him, but he is so afraid of that bolo all he goes out to do now is win.

You're talking a past prime ali here, yes he relied on the clinching too much but most people didn't complain about it. I don't mind it when somebodies brains rattled and they're trying to hold on, but the excessive clinching should be penalized.

Also watch holyfield/tyson1, holyfield clinched tyson numerous times to wear him down. I know its a part of the game but when used as a strategy it makes for a very, very boring fight.

Yeah but Povetkin ain't no ****ing George foreman and atleast Ali knocked him out. Wlad didn't and probably could have. But he's too afraid to get knockedout and lose. So we got a big 6'6 240 pound beast that fights like a wouse. It's Hard to watch bro.

what would make someone watch a fight from the 70's and count the clinches?!?....smh.....Wlad clearly won the fight, let the critics do what they do....you can't defend ****ery....let it go.....I can't defend Hopkins vs Jones II....the fight was **** just like the Wlad-Povetkin scrap

Swift beat up Lucas and the first thing Lucas fans b1tched about was the clinching.....now some of those same cats are defending it...it seems that being REAL is irrelevant these days

Wlad had EVERY advantage and didn't need to fight that type of fight....real talk!!!

I don't think people realize just how great of a win that was for Ali.

Ali had an early peak, Wlad had a late Peak.. Although Ali wasn't shot when he fought Prime Foreman.. he was way past prime.

Foreman destroyed Norton and Frazier.. two fighters who gave Ali Hell. Foreman roared through the division and was a big favorite against Ali. Ali was expected to die.... and he knocked Foreman out. Ali landed a lot of combinations as well and overall fought a lot more courageously than Wlad.

Ali had to resort to some of these acts mainly due to the fact his legs was honestly shot to Hell and he was never a power puncher. Foreman was walking through Ali's combinations quite easily early on..

If Wlad had to fight Prime Foreman.. I don't think anyone will blame him for fighting the way he did...... to compare Povetkin to the Foreman Ali fought is a disgrace...........

Prime Foreman will KO Povetkin 10 out of 10 times... 100 out of 100 times and 999 out of 1000 times...

This guy made an alt to post this **** of a thread?

Are we really comparing the Rumble in the Jungle to WWE?

At least Ali stopped his man... not to mention that man was GEORGE FOREMAN

Foreman back then on a bad night could stop anybody.
