There's always guys that are over hyped, but Lucas had some crazy hype on here. People were acting like he was invincible and the next p4p king. He's still a great fighter, but not the second coming like many of his fans made him out to be.

I see the GGG hype getting up there too. I am not saying he doesn't deserve, but it's starting to get a little ridiculous just like the Machine hype.

I think a lot of US, myself included, thought that Matthysse gave two legitimate contenders, Devon AND Judah, a very contested fight.

He dropped them both..and he was this new guy a lot of us had never seen (all the signs for a hype job)..

Then Danny comes along, does basically the same thing in dropping Khan and Morrales (TWICE!), but yet.. Who do you pick?

They both warranted the respect, adulation, and thoughts of subsequent "dismantling" of their opponent by most fans..

It was just one of those WHO U GOT? fights and Garcia let us all know who to GET from now on...as far as 140 is concerned...

Matthysse is still a problem.....

I disagree, Bute has to be the most hyped fighter these past 10 years. After his best win over a guy with 15 losses, Glen Johnson, people were saying he'd beat every single guy in the super 6. He was on his way to becoming a superstar in Canada, there were even talks of him fighting Ward in Canada and him actually selling out a soccer stadium, there are only a handful of fighters in history with that type of star power.

When he finally stepped up he got destroyed, it was one of Froch's easiest wins of his career. At least Matthyse gave Garcia a tough fight.

I don't think Bute was as hyped as Matthysse. Bute was absolutely destroyed by Froch. I couldn't see anyone hyping him up after that. Matthysse will bounce back. His fans will again nuts when beats a fringe contender.
