So he WAS legitimately stopped then? Sorry, still can't get my head round that...

            Errr.... thanks.

Can I confirm - Tyson won "Golden Gloves" but DIDN'T win any Olympic finals... is that correct?

He lost twice to Henry Tillman to decide who went to the 1984 Olympics, but Tyson punched Tillman out of the ring in the first fight and had him running for his life in the second fight.

Apparently Tyson actually quit against Al Evans due to excessive holding, and apparently Payne just fought him on the outside like Tillman did.

I never heard he QUIT against Evans, I heard it was a good stoppage.

Apparently that's JuyJuy's new alt, John, which would explain a lot.

I certainly would like to see this Al Evans fight.

Craig Payne didn't fight Lennox Lewis as an amateur.

Note that Craig Payne was 22 years old whereas Tyson was only 16, and that Payne also beat Holyfield, Lennox and the great Teofilo Stevenson. Also note that Tyson punched Tillman out of the ring in their first fight and that Tillman just ran for his life in their second fight.
