ward holds a lot. he holds and hits, too.
still, watching that fight and holding my nose, it's plain to see that kessler was inviviting the clinch.
it takes two to clinch. if one guy is struggling to keep and arm free and punching it's very hard to tie him up.
a clinch is a silent agreement by both fighters to "take a three second break."
wladimir took it an extra step on saturday. in addition to clinching, he was literally leaning on povetkin's neck with all of his weight. it was a blatant foul, and the ref should have called him for it early on. after a few rounds the ref is hogtied, as he cannot warn a guy for a tactic he's been using without warning for half of the fight.
pabon won't ref big fights again. klitchko won't fight on hbo for the rest of his career. they will not put up with that crap any longer, especially with a foreign HW.Last edited by New England; 10-07-2013, 07:30 AM.

i suppose you could point to a short stretch here or there and call it "boxing," but for the most part they were looking at each other and posturing.
even klimov's corner told him that he fought like a coward.

Somebody needs to do a Compuclinch of all of both Klits fights and we have the Top 100 fights set in stone.

i thought it was a bad look as well, but he knows the fighter better than we do. klimov wasn't giving himself any chance to win the fight being so passive. saluki's instructions were what he thought the fighter needed to hear to motivate him to action.
