That was the heavyweight champion of the world fighting like a pu$$y. No wonder he has not been on ppv. He's unwatchable. He wins, but he's unwatchable. I'll watch him, his fans will watch him, diehards too, but nobody else. Ratings shmatings, Wlads performance was dirty and he ******!Comment

Its not even about haters. Its about selection of choosing who to mock. When its Ward or Hopkins who employ the same exact tactics, its "the sweet science", "crafty veteran moves". These same people said that when Miguel Cotto fought Margarito the second time, he needed to clinch more often to nullify Tonys offense. They even noted how Shane Mosley was able to destroy him using the exact same tactics.but the haters have every right to voice there displeasure in this fight. wlad was just awful. he looked so mechanical and stiff in there. why he needed to clinch so much against a guy he had every physical advantage over is beyond me. Im very disappointed in wlad. just when it looked like he was turning the corner In his last few fights he goes back to the ruiz grappling style even moreso than ever
But since its Wlad, "this is an outrage, this isn't supposed to be wrestling". "He shouldn't be doing that, this is boxing"Comment

Yes. When you have as big a height difference as in this case, there is a fairly big potential for it getting messy. Yeah Wlad shouldn't have been allowed to hold as much as he did. The referee should have made it much more clear. At the same time it was not like Povetkin came in clean. He did lead with his head somewhat.
So basically another referee could have changed the flow of the fight.Comment

Exactly if Wlad was black I guarantee you we'd have the likes of Ducketts and Barry Robinson saying sh** like ''Y'all don't appreciate skills and intelligence!, it's called being smart man, it's called the sweet science for a reason'Its not even about haters. The Cotto example is irrelevant, that was one specific fight, against one specific opponent who gave him trouble. The thing that bothers me about Wlad is that he fights shorter, smaller opponents, who only have a chance inside, and uses ILLEGAL maneuvers to thwart their attacks. I have pointed out the Hopkins double standards for a long time, I am still giving Ward the benefit of the doubt, he is coming into his own, although i have seen him hold for no reason at times as well. Its not even about haters. Also, Wlad does not utilize boxing technique to avoid punches, He just runs away with a height advantage, or holds when his opponent is in decent position, the latter being illegal.Comment
