When the fight began, Povetkin came out swinging and forced Wladimir to clinch often on the inside. It took Klitschko a little while to get his famous jab going. During the second round, Wladimir scored a knockdown after landing a hard hook that put Povetkin off-balance and down. Most of the rounds that continued had Povetkin charging in with punches and Klitschko holding him on the inside and pushing his weight down on the Russian challenger.

That was horrid. I like defense. I find Rig, Floyd and the like entertaining. That was just ugly. I think Wladw wins have won regardless but the ref was a disgrace. Makes what Fury did against a smaller man look downright stand up.

All that being said Sasha and his corner did very little to adjust and try to win. Yes, they got shafted but were still disappointing.

I'm glad I watched Lewis-Vitali today, so I can remember a good heavyweight fight where guys actually fought.

This was worse than usual. I wonder what Vitali thinks when he stands at ringside, he should maybe tell his brother that losing while fighting fair is more respectable then winning like that...

Did judges give any rounds to Povetkin?

P.S. It is good that I did not watch the whole fight.
It seems that all judges scored it 118-104...

Yes it's a deliberate tactic, it's used to tie up your opponent when you feel that you are not in the position that you want to be; and for your information it's perfectly legal.

Vitali would disagree with your short-mexican-machismo, armchair warrior sentiment. It's all about the W, and styles just didn't make the fight today.

excessive holding illegal
Anything done in a boxing ring that's regarded as "illegal" is attended to by the referee. He stops and eventually cautions and then takes a point. This tactic has been used since time immemorial.

Just yesterday the lead article in this outlet mentioned that Pabon being the ref might just spoil the fight as he has an attention-getting Joe Cortez-itis, and leaps around and interferes with the fighters when they're doing what they do......

Thaty **** is not legal. Some fighters are just allowed to get away with it. Just like Floyd using his elbows or how Roy Jones used to benf below his opponents' waist. Either way, Wladimir is excessive with that bull**** and without doing it, he'd likely have his china chin cracked like it was against Saunders and Brewster.
