It probably has to do with the lawsuit GBP just lost regarding Canelo

I was just looking up the action of Star Boxing against Golden Balls. and the documentation was very clear. That they also had a long list of precedents as to Oscar's habit of interfering with boxers already under contract to other promoters tells us everything about their sleazy conduct. I wonder why this was not prominently shown on BoxingScene....maybe I missed it...??

A letter from someone in the boxing business pointed out that GB had only developed one boxer from the start , that they made a practice of scooping up what others had developed... We saw this with MannyP with Arum putting Oscar right where he deserved to be.....

It could void out the contract with GBP as they were fradulent in signing him in the first place. Hmmm

This is probably true, but if Alvarez's contract with Star was still running, and not expired, it would be a different matter. As it is, Star stands to be awarded millions, because there is no evidence that they would not have been able to make top fights for him too. Alvarez was probably right in it with Golden balls and may be also sued.

And that brings up the question as to what happened to that action taken against him by Solis, whose jaw he broke and put out of action for over a year, and may have also cost him his title.

Cotto is a free agent and that's the smartest way to conduct business given the current Top Rank-Golden Boy feud.

If a boxer doesn't tie himself down to any one promoter then he is free to fight whoever he wants in order to maximize his earnings. Other fighters should take note.

Also it sounds like Arum could be doing a little bit of tampering behind the scenes with Canelo. It will be interesting to keep an eye on that story and see what developments come out.
