Wladimir Klitschko has derided British world heavyweight title hopefuls David Haye and Dereck Chisora as "barking dogs" ahead of his defence against Alexander Povetkin in Moscow on Saturday.

Haye and Chisora, plus Haye's future foe Tyson Fury, are all expected at ringside in the Olimpiyskiy Arena to witness a showdown which Klitschko believes has the potential to be the toughest of his career.

Klitschko swatted Haye in July 2011 while older brother Vitali out-pointed Chisora early last year - and the Ukrainian believes the manner of Povetkin's big-fight build-up proves he is a cut above the British pair.

I think you can interpret what was said in different ways.

Haye and chisora popped a ton of **** and Haye in particular fought like a girl so wlad is surely pissed off at both and he can call them what he wants.

But Povetkin refused to fight forever. Yes, he was respectful in the pre fight build, but he delayed the fight as long as possible. SO its kind of hard to praise Povetkin as a fighting man when he turned down offers and delayed this fight.

That suggests you may have a valid point. But wlad to my knowledge hasn't been a race baiter so he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I don't know how many people here are outside the US or have English as a second language, so I'll clarify for whoever this might be useful to.

It's just an old saying. All bark no bite. Just a way of referring to someone who acts tough but can't back it up.

In all fairness Teddy Atlas had a lot to do with keeping him away from from Wlad when he was with him.I think Povetkin wanted to fight Wlad but Teddy kept telling him he wasn't ready.Well how was he supposed to get ready when all Atlas wanted to do was announce fights on ESPN?I'm glad Povetkin finally dumped Atlas.
