If that were to be true, that's the worst place for a rematch for Vera.

It wasn't only because of how Jr performed, because that was balanced out by the fact that Jr was at least a Cruiserweight by the time the fight started so Vera was fighting a much bigger guy which means Vera did fight great under those circumstances.

I can think of worse. The judging sucks but at least Texas is where Vera is from if that is worth anything.

Yeah right when I posted I realized he was from Texas. Forgot initially. Hopefully that would help him out a little bit but unless something dramatic happens in the ring, I can't see him getting the win.

If JCC was performing so poorly then that makes him look even worse. This fight was there for him to shine and earn the big fights that he covets. Vera was supposed to be knocked out especially with the 15 to 20 pound difference. JCC needs to dominate his opponents. This is the gift and the curse with having a famous last name is that he must live up it. Unfortunately for him, he hasn't done that yet but am sure he will now with the media attention he is getting from this last poor performance.

Vera would actually be perfect for Martinez's return fight, It would give a good measuring stick of what Sergio has left, and if he's up to face GGG.

If you are talking about Vera - Vera's performance was excellent because he was fighting a CRUISERWEIGHT.

Would love to see Martinez face Vera in Argentina for his so called 'tuneup' fight. I think Vera would give a valiant effort but the much faster, and skilled Martinez would pick him apart.

Also, what about matching Vera up against Andy Lee in a rubber-match? Lee is back on track with his career and facing his old foe would elevate him into title contention again. Or...Vera KTFO Lee

                      Look:

"Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is reportedly working on a rematch between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (47-1-1, 32 KO’s) and Bryan Vera (23-7, 14 KO’s) for December 14th in Texas, according to RingTV."
