Didn't Floyd pull some similar **** before the Cotto fight was announced? Saying he was going to fight in a unification against Alexander. Then a short while later the Cotto fight was finalized?

If I had to guess, i'd say that Garcia/Mayweather is being shopped and Angel Garcia wants that $$$. And TMT will remind them of their negotiating standpoint.

I hate that fans support fights just because it will make a fighter they like money. We should all care about who deserves the fight, not who makes the most money.

People will say that but then if Devon Alexander beats Khan watch how everyone will complain that they don't want to see him fight Floyd.

Even though Devon would be deserving after having wins over Khan, Maidana, Matthysse etc.

Most "fans" on here just want to see one of their pet fighters get the bout, or else they want to see Floyd fight someone from a higher weight class so that he can finally get beat. It's pathetic.

Boxing is a business. The TV networks are in it to make money so they will try to put together the fights that maximize their profit. Not the ones that minimize it.

The choice for Floyd's next fight is now in the hands of GBP, Haymon and Showtime. (With Floyd's approval, of course.) Showtime would have to be willing to lose money or Floyd accepting less money if he takes on the likes of Alexander, Garcia, or even Khan. But since making more than 1 million sales in PPV became part of his image, I don't think it will happen.
