Diaz is a nice trainer, but he trained Cotto like it was the amateurs.

And this "whoring" to trainers thing is so ******.

His uncle and him split - family falling out

He went to his spit bucket holder for his biggest fight - Got destroyed

Went to Manny - picked up what he did

Then went to Diaz - and honestly - the success they had was suspect

    Now he's w/ Roach

This whole trainer jumping is vastly overstated. People are sounding like f---tards. I will admit, I would have loved to see Manny in with Cotto the whole time until his untimely passing (R.I.P.).

So I don't know why it's getting harped on like a bunch of schoolgirls. His 'second' trainer had no qualifications to be in there.

Roach isn't all that n it's funny how a lot of the Cotto fans think so kindly of Roach now after dogging him before this.
Not me. I still think Roach is overrated as a trainer. Manny's fat friend Buboi is more of a trainer in between rounds than Roach is.

He had a falling out with his uncle. Santiago wasn't even a legit boxing coach. I heard he left Manny because of the fees that were being charged and lets be honest, Pedro Diaz really just wasnt that good of a coach. He trains his fighters like an amateur.

And before you use Diaz as securing Rigo his biggest victory... Lets be real, whether Rigo had Pedro or not, he still would have outboxed Nonito.

Pedro Diaz is pretty good, if I had to pick between Roach or Diaz to mold a raw lump of clay I would pick Diaz in most cases.

For Cotto's situation I don't know which is better. I tend to think Roach is better because Cotto is what he is that doesn't need to change (and isn't going to change) so it is best to just push him and get the most out of him which I think Roach is really good at.

Miguel Cotto doesn't like to be pushed and Roach is known to be pretty easy compared with other trainers so no surprise here.

How so? He had Rigo for one fight and Cotto for 3 which he went 1-2. How could he be one of the best coaches in the game right now when he barely accomplished anything as a pro coach?

Is he a good coach? For sure but look at his teaching methods when he holds pads for his fighters. He teaches the amateur way. Throw lots of a punches and move your feet. Doesnt actually teach proper head movements, proper punch combinations, how to sit down on your punches.

Diaz is a basic trainer thats good for the amateurs. He gets to much hype on these forums. I think a lot of it had to do with How good he looked against Mayweather. Roach isn't the best coach out there but anyone who thinks Diaz is better at the pro level is on some good shit.

Known to be pretty easy? If anything Roach is one of the best coaches that pushes his fighters. Its rare we ever see a Roach fighter not come into a fight in shape outside of James Toney but he was just naturally gifted.
