Who is ranked higher in your opinion Froch or Calzaghe

I think calzaghe gets way too much credit for the hopkins win. He was literally pitty patting. Its an arguable victory. I had hopkins winning. Had he rematched hopkins and beat him clearly it would be a different story.

A win is a win against an ATG. Joe beat him when he said there's no way a 'white boy' could.

Based on what Hopkins has went on to do, (and I think he would beat Stevenson) that win was a lot better than originally perceived.

I agree. Even Enzo said before the last round you are way behind you have to KO him to win! Joe would never rematch BH cuz he knew he could do nothing with him.

He didn't rematch him because Hopkins makes an ugly fight no matter who he faces. Forever. Period.

Froch only has a better resume if you don't count loses as negatives and people are count Dirrell as a good win for Froch now~ a fight were he did absolutely nothing and proved nothing.

Sure Froch fought better guys but what happened in those fights he lost to Ward easily, he lost to Kessler but evened up the score at a later date and he should have lost to Dirrell.

Calzaghe was fortunate against Reid but other than that he took care of business.

I have no reserve at all saying that Calzaghe is an ATG.

Is he on Roy and Bernard's level? No.

But to me, based on what he managed to do, he is an ATG.

20+ defenses at SMW and the lineal 168 and 175 titles was special.

On a down side, I think he should have continued to fight.

A Calzaghe-Froch fight would have been epic anywhere in the UK.

Better resume, doesn't avoid anyone and I think he could beat Calzaghe also. Oh, and Calzaghe's best 'win' was a clear loss IMO, Hopkins done all the good/effective work; lots of slapping punches that hit air and shoulders isn't anything.

Frochs resume has more depth, Calzaghes has longevity, Hopkins and his record.

I rank Joe higher but Froch has more names on it I think Hopkins and the fact Calzaghe is the much better fighter IMO make it so.

The Hopkins win was marginal. It adds nothing to Joe's resume. He was a great fighter, sure, but the fight proved nothing. Hopkins has always been an absolute turd, and Joe made hard work of it.
