I think calzaghe gets way too much credit for the hopkins win. He was literally pitty patting. Its an arguable victory. I had hopkins winning. Had he rematched hopkins and beat him clearly it would be a different story.

With these hypothetical match ups you can usually make a reasonable case for both guys but, as much as I admire warrior Froch, I could see nothing but a wide UD for a prime Joe over a prime Carl.

          FROCH'S RESUME > CALZAGHE'S

Froch has guts and isn't even finished yet

Calzaghe in line with Ottke, Dariusz M

Calzaghe was lineal champion at 168 and 175.

How does Froch have the better resume?

I agree. Even Enzo said before the last round you are way behind you have to KO him to win! Joe would never rematch BH cuz he knew he could do nothing with him.

I would say JC is the better fighter, but credit has to be given to Froch for fighting everyone.
Froch has proven if you fight everyone, some you will win and of course some you may lose, but at least Froch fought them.

I like Froch now much more than when he was the young upstart having a go at JC.

Calzaghe by a long long way primarily because I wouldn't have Froch ever beating him regardless of how great his resume is.

                      Calzaghe. Not. Even. Close.

His unbeaten title defense stretch has to be taken into consideration even if he didn't always fight great opposition.

That said, I would put money on Calzaghe unretiring and beating Froch now.

No disrespect to Froch, but Joe was on Ward's level and as was demonstrated in their fight, he is not.
