Listen to Macklin's interview. He doesn't praise GGG's power but his SKILLS.
People talk about his ability to cut off the ring and walk you down but that is something that's easier to do with lesser competition.

He's also much more hittable than most think but his power keeps lesser opponents honest.

Please watch Dirrell fight in amateurs. You don't go 345-5 being totally hittable and without excellent skill set.

GGG chose to fight neglecting defense as he needed to. He needed those massive KO to get people interested. Believe me he can fight UD, no prob.

So going by that logic and analyzing their styles one has to favor Ward. However, this logic doesn't always work, as I said, when you don't know a certain fighter's ceiling and limitations (GGG) it's hard to comfortably make a prediction.

It's almost the case like in the Canelo-Mayweather fight, but I think that Ward isn't as good as Floyd and that GGG looks superior to Canelo. Plus GGG was a decorated amateur and looked good in the Olympics.
Good post. One big difference is that the unproven guy would have a size disadvantage, instead of a large advantage that Canelo had. That's really the main thing that made it interesting.
