I was kinda wondering why GGG didn't pull the trigger in rnd 3 when Curtis was still kinda wobbled, but Gena just kinda eased up and kept stickin' Stevens with his jab. Now I can't be sure but I think GGG may just have wanted to punish Stevens, kinda show him that nothing he could do was gonna save him and then just go to work breaking him down physically as well.
From about round 4 / 5 you can see Stevens looking increasingly disconsolate in his corner, like Rozier and the other Guy giving him instructions and him just kinda mumbling OK, OK, but you can see in his eyes he's realised he's already lost.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but just the comments before and after, and the way Gena seemed to let Stevens off the hook in 3 and ease up a little when he quite clearly had the capacity to push it make me wonder.
FWIW That little insult at the end wasn't what we normally see from GGG either. 'Go home and tell your parents I say hi' - is kinda saying run along little boy - show mummy what happens when you play with the big boys. Deadly. Wonder if that's one they use in Kazakhstan?Last edited by Citizen Koba; 11-05-2013, 06:41 AM.

the answer is : Russians, even though there are plenty of other ethnicities.
So why we cannot apply the same to Kazakhstan's case?

If you remember after knocking out Macklin he said smth like: This is my present to him
So the message to Stevens is kind of similar to that. its like: I'm sending my greetings to your parents.
This is common in Kazakhstan, this is sort of trolling after u defeat opponent, or proved you were right.

And what he said in the post fight interview wasn't meant as an insult, he told Stevens to go home to see his family and then come back.
