Steward said Cotto was one of the best punchers he had ever trained, so if Roach can resurrect that, we're in for a great fight.

Is Cotto working with Ariza too?

Hope Cotto doesn't destroy Rodriguez too brutally. He might scare off future opponents.

Shame it has come so late into Cotto's career.

Miguel still has a great boxing mind, but lacks that explosive quicknes he had in younger days.

The heavy defeats at the hands of Margarito and Pacquiao took it's toll as well.
Me too. Roach is a perfect fit to try and sharpen up that pressurising style, and make him more ruthless and effective with his shots.

Roach is not a good fit for Cotto. My take on Cotto is that he has always needed someone to implement a lil defensive game into his offensive one. Cotto has always taken big punches flush that he should not have had to. He has always had the potential to be at the top of the tier but he just doesn't know how to avoid taking punishment. Roach has all of his fighters throwing punches leaving themselves wide open. Best trainer for Cotto was the guy he left for Roach.

You mean the guy he has two losses under? He was undefeated when he trained with Steward, and yet you choose Diaz? I don't see the logic in that.

Cotto is 1 of the main reasons why I closely followed boxing during his peak in 07-08. He was an absolute machine. I hope he comes back strong, but he's a hall-of famer who I think was beaten by a roster of cheats in Mayweather, Pacquiao and Margarito.
