A blistering attacking style and destruction of an opponent doesnt necessarily make a fighter great. Sometimes its gets fighters hurt, damaged or KTFO.
What floyd does is great. His style isnt about attack. its about ring smarts, precision, focus and adaptability.
I feel just because his style lacks drama, his skills are under appreciated.
The other fighters you mentioned didnt have the same mentality Floyd has. To be smart, and simply out box opponents. Not giving them a chance to score anything clean. They all wanted to go to war and destroy their opponents. Which lead to drama, and them taking punishment. Floyd can dominate without doing that. im not suggesting he is better, but different, and that its not to his detriment as a fighter.
Really??? Really??? Who thought this would be a tough fight? In some bookies Floyd was a 9/1 favourite....9/1 man, what more do you want. Everyone I knew, and I know some trainers and fighters, past and present, said that Floyd would school this kid. Everyone said this fight was a bit too early for Canelo. Everyone said Canelo's stamina was questionable. Everyone said Canelo had maybe, MAYBE, 2 good wins on his resume.

Who thought this was going to be a tough fight? The people selling the fight itself? Yes. The broadcasters? Yes. Drunk latinos? Yes. The educated boxing fan? No. It's as simple as that.

Canelo won 3 rounds, 8 and 9 amongst them. These were rounds Floyd took off, he literally dropped his work rate to anaemic levels. Watch the fight against, particularly rounds 8-10, Floyd had almost 0 work.

Yes Floyd outboxed Canelo but was that ever in any doubt? Canelo himself blocked really well throughout the fight. Canelo got in some good shots but he was throwing maybe 3 punches ever 10 minutes LOL...Floyd's work rate wasn't much better but it was slightly cleaner. Other great fighters, throughout history, the creme de le creme, would destroy green, punch shy opponents like Canelo. Floyd was content with sparring him. It reminds me a bit of RJJ, but at least RJJ could rely on superhuman power and flashy combinations.

You've lost your mind. Floyd wasn't 9/1 over Canelo anywhere.

Round 8, especially the last 50 seconds was one of Mayweather's best round if I remember correctly.
