He would beat Gatti but he has gotten a reputation, despite a few losses, as being the best welterweight to many when he is not. I think Mosley and Mayweather would have a field day with Margarito

Gatti had stopped putting forward ANY offense by ROUND ONE. Gatti was throwing NO PUNCHES. Just covering up. Is that not quitting?

Gatti isn't an elite fighter, and THAT IS OK. Not everyone CAN be. Neither is, for example, ChopChop. But Chop goes into fights with better prospects and performs admirably : Cotto, Judah, Mayweather.

Look at the performances of Torres, Baldomir and Maussa, as additional examples. Guys who gave themselves chances to win against better opposition.


Whenever Gatti has faced superior talent, he CRUMBLED BADLY.

oh yes, and because he's not at the top and skilled to no end, he never should have boxed a round in his life and gotten rich and famous in the process...should have worked in a factory or something making minimum wage instead. very true...manny steward said that if his corner hadnt stopped it, the head of the commission would have. One thing gatti does not know how to do is quit. I realize he's not for everyone, and that he's not an elite fighter...so what?? Who the hell cares (other than the haters that will actually calim he's not exciting, which is just nonsense) He's doing what he loves...millions love to watch him do it, and he's making a killing too.
