How is it embarassing? Let's see ... Margarito, the champion has been there all along waiting to meet a "worthy challenger" like Gatti.

Now, all of a sudden, Gatti wants to fight Baldomir bad enough he'd give his left nut to steal ... er, become holder of another championship before he gets out of the game.

I bet Gatti had never heard of Baldomir before the Judah fight, much less considered fighting him. If he's so tough and wants a championship ... Margarito's got one and he deserves a payday too!

okay, I like margarito very much, and agree he deserves a shot, but there are others out there he can fight. It doesnt have to be gatti. So it's shameful (sorry, embarrassing) to be smart and instead of fighting the most dangerous one, fight the one thats a little safer before calling it a 'night'?? Lol, if thats the case, many many boxers are hanging their heads right about now.

If ALL he ever fought were sorry bums, he wouldnt have the fan base he does. Geeze, look at who Hopkins made his living and career off of. But, that was alright.

Tracey, you're right ... lots of fighters have avoided others to get cheap, easy paydays.

I bet Carmen Basilio, Jake Lamotta and Rocky Graziano never did ... They EARNED their reps! No publicist or team of publicists crafted their legacies. They did it themselves.

I don't have a problem with Gatti; he's overhyped and a product of HBO Sports but hey, they also had Joe Mesi tabbed for superstardom!

I have a problem with the bogus praise they heap on him every time he appears on their broadcast. They should "call it as they see it" instead of creating **** that never happened. By their pbp you'd swear Daamgard never laid a glove on Gatti.

That's a joke. There's no defense for that kinda blatant homerism.

I'm not saying that he fought all bums, but when he fought the top dogs, he was obliterated. At least B-Hop beat a prime Tito. If the basis of your argument is fan base and huge paydays, then you have no argument at all.

oh okay, I get your point. And damgaard did much more than lay a glove on him..I can easily say that. He's just making the most of the limited talents he has..cant blame him for that. HBO does lavish him with the luv, but being a big fan, it doesnt bother me. Now if it was a fighter I didnt like it would sicken me..no doubt about it.

                      GATTI: ICON OF "WARRIOR"

What a warrior Gatti is...strong, skilled and tough! I love watching him dig his left hooks into his opponents body and watching them react in pain....and I admire his "Never say Quit" approach even when he faces injury- broken hand or blood running down his face he stays in there and battles. WHAT A WARRIOR!
