Stevens is not a respected hitter. To be that first you have to be respected. that usually involves at least one top 15 win, which he doesn't have in any division. and ideally no bad losses, of which he has 2.

No your getting it wrong, I'm not saying Stevens is a good boxer I'm saying he hits hard an no Golovkin hasn't faced a guy who can do hit hard since Bute with headgear. You cant compare Stevens with Garcia. Stevens is no match for Golovkin. Lucas vs. garcia was the best 140 pounders fighting each other. I think Macklin was a much better opponent than Stevens. Only thing Stevens got is power but the skill difference is just to big for Golovkin to lose this.
