Comments Thread For: Stevens' Trainer Feels Golovkin is Being Overhyped

Trainer Andre Rozier feels WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) is getting too much hype - based on the boxers that he's beaten since his HBO debut last September. Rozier's fighter, Curtis Stevens (25-3, 18KOs), will face Golovkin on November 2nd at The Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. Rozier expects a very explosive fight between two big punchers.

Rozier will never have success at the pro level,he's a good amateur coach. He forgot to mention the Findley fight which showed lots of signs from the Brinkley fight. Same team, same fighter from back then and like dub C said "aint a damn thing changed"

Matthew Macklin, he should have been a featherweight with the way he boxed because he boxed with the heart of a peanut.
Haaaaarsh, but a goddamn funny way of putting it.

Gennady doesn't have the best resume but that's not his fault. These beltholders aren't willing to fight him so he has to pick from those willing to fight him which may not include people who aren't sellable. GGG just needs to fight a name to show he's the real deal, sadly even if he beats Stevens that won't be enough.

OMG, too damn funny. He tries to criticize GGG on his opponents since his HBO start... and look what he says at the end of the article.... hilarious

This is one of the best matchups in Boxing. Not because of skills or talent. GGG is and should be the huge favorite but the fact that it will end in a KO, guaranteed. Either GGG will show that Stevens cannot hang with him which is most likely what will happen or Stevens will land that one big one. You cant ask for anything more. You can get a lot of even matchups in Boxing that are boring, but this will not be. Stevens talked his way into this and now has to deliver. If he makes it a back and forth where he and GGG are hurt, he will have sold himself well and backed up his words win or lose. I think GGG will box from the outside and not exchange and slowly wear down Stevens and then when it is safe, go in for the kill. But I would not be shocked if Stevens lands the big one. Nothing shocks me. But GGG's pedegree allows him more options inside those ropes. His best bet is not to see if he has a great chin, but to avoid getting hit with bombs. You cant let your guard down for a moment against Stevens.

I cannot wait for GGG to flatten Stevens. It is going to be a massacre.

I'm a GGG fan and I think he's going to win. But honestly, I hope Stevens lands something big to see how GGG's chin is and see how he reacts. GGG KO 6
