What would of happend if escobedo pulled out or vera pulls out. When is ther going to be a fighter with balls as big as the bulls to actually say **** you and **** your money there is no fight theh promoters would actually think about promoting that top prospect.

look at judges, promoters, refs etc protecting investments it always sicken me I love boxing but hate the politics. Everything malignagie said about diaz and broner is true but when someone calls them out they all backstab him. Look at showtime how they didn't backed up paulie and made him apologize after to keep his job.

Arum was asked a question about Chavez' weight and he responded-he was saying that he didn't know. I've already suggested elsewhere that there is likely a clause with penalties for overweight and Chavez (Arum) will pay it if he's over. At least that's the way it's usually done. This isn't an important fight just a "getting-back-in-action" fight for Chavez. It's much more important for Vera because he's a journeyman and a win would be huge for him, no matter what the weight.
So I don't see what the fuss is all about. It's so easy to stir up trouble here.

It's clear from the report, and David is a top reporter who would get to the facts, that Chavez announced that he presently weighed 173, and some imaginative reporter made it into a hysterical headline.
As for Arum's statement it's abundantly clear, even to an average mind, that he was unclear about the weight situation, and would know more about it later. I don't think he's a trainer standing with a portable weighing scale in his hands whilst Chavez eats..... it's not a fight where weight dictates it's viability otherwise it would be contracted and we'd all hear about it..
