What would of happend if escobedo pulled out or vera pulls out. When is ther going to be a fighter with balls as big as the bulls to actually say **** you and **** your money there is no fight theh promoters would actually think about promoting that top prospect.
theres a big difference, the two fights you mentioned had set fight weights, even if they were not made they were set. these clowns wont set the weights cuz thy want to save face and act like chaez jr's lazy a@@ made weight

        About it, mare excuses even

When a top rank does it, then it's a disgrace to the sport Lol this is just like catchweight hypocrisy they got exposed on
There is a great difference!!!!! Floyd and canelo agreed on a wt and stuck to it. The story here says they had an agreed upon wt that will be changed by top rank to facilitate jr's Inability to make the agreed upon wt of 168. And as for catch wt hypocrisy, nobody cares if a fighter from a lower wt class ask for a catch wt to fight a larger fighter, the beef comes in when a fighter is asked to fight at a catch wt when both fighters fight at the the same wt. For example asking a man to come in at 144 for a welter wt title fight is just wrong. That is just to give one fighter a unearned edge.

Floyd paid jmm 600,000+ dollar's for being 2 pounds over the contracted limit. Please show me where vera is being compensated for jr's inability to make wt? Oh wait there is no wt...yet. they have to wait to see just how much jr is going to wt before they set the limit. If that's not showing extreme bias to jr what is.

look at judges, promoters, refs etc protecting investments it always sicken me I love boxing but hate the politics. Everything malignagie said about diaz and broner is true but when someone calls them out they all backstab him. Look at showtime how they didn't backed up paulie and made him apologize after to keep his job.
They call floyd the best because he is. Recently he has been getting the praise he deserves. He has faced stiff competition from youngsters and veterans. He has not faced the same competition over and over. Even writers that are not fans give him his just dues. And paulie has to understand when you work for the network you represent them and your views must be instep with theirs the same with any company.

I've already suggested elsewhere that there is likely a clause with penalties for overweight and Chavez (Arum) will pay it if he's over. At least that's the way it's usually done. This isn't an important fight just a "getting-back-in-action" fight for Chavez. It's much more important for Vera because he's a journeyman and a win would be huge for him, no matter what the weight.

So I don't see what the fuss is all about. It's so easy to stir up trouble here.
All that you say I can agree with. The problem is arum has not said any of the things you say and thats the problem. No where is there a mention of a penalty. In fact arum says he doesn't know what the wt limit will be.you speak of the way things are done by boxing rules. Arum makes his own rules. And shame on hbo for accepting this crap.

Seriously? You don't see what all the fuss is about?

                  Wow. Just wow.

Is there ever a time when you don't rush to defend Arum or one of his fighters?

It's clear from the report, and David is a top reporter who would get to the facts, that Chavez announced that he presently weighed 173, and some imaginative reporter made it into a hysterical headline.

As for Arum's statement it's abundantly clear, even to an average mind, that he was unclear about the weight situation, and would know more about it later. I don't think he's a trainer standing with a portable weighing scale in his hands whilst Chavez eats..... it's not a fight where weight dictates it's viability otherwise it would be contracted and we'd all hear about it..
What part of we will take a look in a few days to see what the fighters (jr) wt then we will go from there. Now what part of that direct quote from bob is in question? really edgarg one would think arum was in your family the way you defend him.

I mean I don't understand why fighters should have to fulfill the terms that they're legally bound to.
