Comments Thread For: Josesito Lopez Could Return in Early November

Josesito Lopez could return to the ring as early as the first part of November, Thompson Boxing General Manager and matchmaker Alex Camponovo told Boxingscene.com late last week.

That will depend on when Lopez would be cleared to train in the gym.

“If everything goes as scheduled, and the doctors clear him, the target date for his next fight will be in early November,” said Camponovo.

Who's he going to fight and does anyone really care?

He's going no where in the sport.

im sure the close to 9000 people who saw him fight Maidana care. This guy always comes to fight and backs down to no one. I wanna see him fight and lots more do. We need more fighters like Josesito who will take on whoever whenever. That's what u call a fighter.

this guy is in great fights.

underrated fighter. he can punch, has a good chin, and has a relatively technical offense for a brawler. gets good leverage on his shots. that's where his power comes from more than superhuman strength, like maidana and matthysse. maidana and matthysse get their power from eating all of that argentine beef, and subsequently being strong as F.

the maidana fight was an absolute war. so was the dallas jr fight. and the ortiz fight was a real classic with the broken jaw and everything

get josesito a fight against a guy of his size. he's a JR WW, but he's been much higher on the scales for the money. he looks a bit soft at even at 147.

i've always thought that josesito would pound and stop berto, for instance. what a war that would be. true crossroads fight.

he is one of the sport's true gatekeepers. boxing needs guys like him. he can test a prospect, and he might even take a few down because of his experience. if you put him in there with an aggressor he is a guaranteed good fight. he's not going to headline any major cards (other than that joke of a fight against alvarez,) but on an undercard he's a fighter i'd like to continue to see as long as he's matched tough. the guy will fight anybody, and gives 100% in defeat and victory. he doesn't show up for a paycheck. he tests you. his win over ortiz at 147 is a lot better than some of the other guys @ 147 can boast.

                    i'm all for josesito. i'm a fan.
