It was a good close fight but danny won and deserves Floyd. If that cant be made then a rematch is a very good thing

Wasn't close on my score cards. I was one of the few people here that picked Danny as an unbiased fan. People sleep on Garcia and I think he basically dominated Mathysse.

He took his power away, was almost always first and out boxed him easily.

Interesting. What was your score? I had it 114-112 Garcia.

Danny had a great game-plan and stuck to it. Not easy to do in the face of a hard puncher like Matthysse.

I believe I had it one point more than you but besides the score cards, I just think it was n't that close.

Garcia dominated the fight, it was shocking to see the way he just took everything away from mathysse.

He really turned Mathysse into a one dimensional fighter, which I been saying he is. great power, good at pressuring but hasn't faced a good boxer and we see now what happens when he did.

I see what you're saying; you thought the fight was close only on paper. I don't agree, but I see where you're coming from. I thought most rounds were very competitive, but I do believe Garcia won a couple of rounds big. The one big round Matthysse had was nullified by the KD.

I wouldn't say Danny "turned Matthysse into a one dimensional fighter"; I'd say Lucas always was. Garcia showed some underrated skills and poise in taking advantage of Matthysse's shortcomings.

Nonetheless, bro, I'd welcome a rematch. I think these two have good chemistry. If an old Morales got a rematch, I don't see why Lucas shouldn't.

Both these guys can go on to other exciting fights or fight each other......they are must see TV and I look forward to whoever they fight next. Garcia has really become one hell of a champ and it is very easy to see how he has improved each fight. Make 2-3 more defences of the title and he could emerge into the PFP top 10 rankings, if not sooner. He does a lot of clever things that often go unoticed and this last fight he gained a lot of respect from the Boxing world. His career is going to fun to watch over the years.

Yea, it was close on the score cards but not so much for me in the ring. I was hard pressed to give a clear round to Lucas

That's basically turning him into a one dimensional fighter. See, it's easy to say what you are going to do in the ring, but to do it is much harder. Everyone I talked to said Mathysse is a one dimensional fighter, but that one dimension is pretty hard to beat.

He has dynamite in both hands, pressures well and has a great chin. So the game plan has been the same to beat him, just nobody could. Garcia came in an nullified his power with his boxing, got off first almost every time and threw combo's that kept Mathysse off balance.

Very impressed with Garcia and I think he might be one of the most underrated fighters in the game today, along side Raymundo Beltran....that dude gets the shaft and no love.
