Let's puncture the analogy and unveil the question lurking behind the question.

'Can the art and craft of boxing, including its intangibles, be reduced to a purely statistical exercise?'

If you believe that it can, then Joe Calzaghe is one of the sports All Time Greats. . . . and that's the bottom line 'cause boxrec said so.

If on the other hand, you prefer not to delve into the mental redundancy of Numberwang then there is no conceivable argument that puts Joe Calzaghe anywhere near the top 50.

This guy is a good fighter , but not an ATG.
Thank you. Really wish Boxingscene would block the use of the term "ATG." Most people here have been watching fights for 5 damn years, yet they're qualified to know what the hell an all-time great fighter looks like?

And hopkins was still wining after, but he wasn't the same, getting slapped around for 12rounds just messed him up.
He beat a shell of Roy Jones Jr. Prime RJJ destroys Calslappy. But he got the win and a check in the box so that's that. As for ATG? I've seen better fighters on Jerry Springer.

I have him just below Marvis Frazier. Seriously.

I know right? People should stop comparing Calzaghe to true ATGs like Canelo and Timothy Bradley.

Wow, people giving joe credit for the Roy win, this was the same Roy who was KO'd by Danny Greem in one round just a year later.

Roy was shot to shît when joe faced him. He gets no credit for that win, none.

too many good fighters ahead of joe to even give him a number on the ATG list.

Now on the ATS/C list I have him at #1
