Top Rank is holding Pacquiao hostage.

I disagree with the OSDT being a last minute add on to the negotiations. That said, I'll look up the rest of what you said about Kizer.Forgot to add that as far as Golden Balls wanting to "buy" Donaire for a fight against Mares, it was only a gimmick. Donaire being contracted to Top Rank would have had to pay the normal contracted fee anyway. But that wasn't the sneaky catch that Golden Balls had in their "offer" to TR.
It was a little clause in that small print, allowing them to cancel out the fight at a few days notice without compensation to Donaire.
So it was just an obvious PR gimmick in their perpetual fight to try to make Top Rank look bad.
Next, I read the contract that Golden Boy, the childish nicknames for a multi-million dollar business ignored, sent to Top Rank for Donaire's "services" and I've read the industry reaction to it. I don't believe there was this sneaky catch that you're referring to if it wasn't normal industry practice.
A fight of that caliber being signed and announced...they would lose money cancelling it "on a few days notice". I do recall wording that the check would be sent to Top Rank for them to remove their promotional fees before passing the remaining amount on to Donaire which, logically, is an example of paying a company to use one of their employees.
Top Rank looks bad in its own right. Before it was explicitly said that they weren't working across the board, Pacquiao was signing to fight Clottey (TP) who was coming off a loss to Cotto (TP). They don't have the stable of fighters to support their star fighter so they brought in Bradley to serve as fresh blood.
GBP is suspect, too, but their building of young fighters is something that should definitely be seen as an achievement. I don't like how, it appears, they did Anselmo but I also hate what Top Rank has done to Rigondeaux.
I digress but my point is that it is both of their faults for not giving me what I wanted and I will never forgive either of them.
And people talk about this "afraid to lose his '0'" crap...a motherf'r with tattoos trying to play off a fear of needles is full of more crap than any perceived fear of losing. Just a bunch of crap all around.Comment

Golden Boy has all the fighters worth mentioning, Top Rank is pretty much done. Manny is content knowing he'll most likely be fighting bums that pose no threat, after getting KTFO by JMM.
No way in hell Arum puts Manny in another dangerous fight where he stands to get laid out again.Comment

That's total BS ! , the testing was in the very first draft Schaefer sent them , and Roach said no problems with the testing , after Floyd agreed to 50/50 and everything from locker room to gloves , then the testing became an issue with Manny wanting cut off dates .It wasn't so much that testing was the issue, it became the issue. The Mayweather's sprung it on the other side just before the last details of the agreement were being worked out. My opinion always has been that the Mayweathers well knew that this would be a problem for Pacquiao as it was well known in the industry that he had a superstitious hatred for invasive procedures and-logically or illogically-blamed his loss to Morales on that late blood sample taken. he still does to this very day.
If they had accepted the OSDT without bargaining for better advantage when they were the A side, it would have been a miracle, and if that were so, the Mayweathers would have found another impossible demand. As for MannyP's superstitions and ritual practices of doing a lo g list of the same things over and over, I believe that Thomas Hauser or some other top writer did an article which I saw about a while ago, maybe in Maxboxing, or on the net.
As for where the fault lies, there is indisputable proof that the Nevada SAC called a meeting of ALL parties to settle the differences. That retired Judge (Weinberg?) who specialises in successful private resolutions was there as were Arum, Schaefer, Keith Kizer, and Russ Greenburg of HBO -who had been the go-between- for getting the deal back on track, something which the Mayweathers denied ever happened-until greenburg said it did.... The only one missing was a Mayweather.
Kizer issued a statement afterwards saying that "we know now that the blame for this fight not happening lies squarely on the shoulders of Floyd Mayweather..." It then became obvious to even the most rabid Phoney Phloyd backside-lickers -for a short while anyway- that it was all Mayweather's fault, that he just did not want the fight. He is not a coward, but he and his whole team felt that it was too risky for him to chance losing his "0" which they felt was his main attraction..
So that's what happened.
Manny said he must have a cut of date because taking blood makes him weak , but apparently not with Rios !
Now if your name is not Floyd a cut of date is not needed , why is that ?
Any Manny fanboys gunna answer this LOL .
No takers once again , its very hard to respect any of you Manny fans , .Last edited by Reloaded; 09-24-2013, 12:26 AM.Comment
