  • Gatti Returns With a "Thunder" TKO

The return of Arturo Gatti (40-7, 31KOs) showered Atlantic City, News Jersey with "thunder" in his fists. A big return for Gatti, who was coming off the worst loss of his career against Floyd Mayweather, punished Danish fighter Thomas Damgaard (37-0, 28KOs) into submission and stopped him in 11 rounds to hand the Danish fighter his first loss.

The bout started slow as both men jabbed. Gatti began to unload with big punches, but ran into some problems when halfway through the bout he hurt his right hand. Damgaard kept a lot of pressure on Gatti and stayed on top of him. The problem with staying close to Gatti is keeping himself in the heart of the fire.

Gatti was faster, better conditioned and stronger with his punches. Damgaard was busted up badly down the stretch, bleeding from the top of his head, his nose and his mouth. [details]

doesnt zab still have the ibf belt? if things break down in may/zab a zab/art would be a big money fight.although a baldomirstyle/gatti is the easiest way to go. and he'd have a chance.

either way hope gatti retires after next fight and go out in style.don't see him having much of a chance against big names at 147.

baldomir is the only way to go for arturo gatti at 147.

Gatti and Hatton would be a good fight for about 6 rounds. Hatton with a KO. But what a 6 rounds it would be. Floyd would beat Hatton but not with a KO. Maybe a TKO if they fight in the states and Hatton gets one of those bad cuts. If Hatton can survive the cuts he will be beaten on points.

Gatti would get KO'd by Hatton. What about Gatti vs Judah??
