Exactly, so no legit competition means no right to be in the top 10, let alone 2 and 3.

For ME to place somebody in the top five they have to :

      EARN IT !!!!

      Take on all comers !!!!

      Take risks !!!!!!

I love to watch KO artists that take on all comers and or look for fights, big fights, and that takes T I M E !!!! it don't happen in one day or one year but they make it happen , for instance GGG. He is not P4P yet but he in my opinion is in the making, but he must continue to prove it, he must KO this nut Curtis, and if he takes the Andre Rodrigous fight winner and KO's them he will be well on his way into the top five in my opinion.

I don't like the attitude I can take vacations and retirements when threats are in yer face, I like the attitude BRING IT ON and face all the PRIME elites.

Its all fantasy this P4P crap anyway. IF you had an JR the size of Cassius Clay, and they fought in the 60's just after Clay Whupped Liston then YOU would never have heard nor read about Floyd Joy Mayweather JR, he would just be a number on Clays record. Just go back and review the scene around that fight, the build up to it and then the fight itself and tell me if you think JR could have whupped Clay ? Clay would have kicked his AZZ so bad he would have stuffed him in a tuna can and sent him back to Charley!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say JMM's win over Pac and Rigo's win over Donaire are about equally impressive, but JMM's overall body of work is FAR superior to Rigo's. Rating Rigo ahead of JMM is just not justifiable yet imo.

And Donaire was indeed top 5 on most P4P lists prior to Rigo, but few (if any) had him as high as #2, and you can't be #2 based entirely on one win against a guy who wasn't even #2.

            I agree.
But I've placed Rigo at #2 in order to undertake a polemic statement that underlines the underrated status of a pure stylist who left a very good fighter (Donaire) with practically no reaction whatsoever... (... And because Ward was ranked as #2...)

Its September 2013 and you are sill upset over manny and nonito? come on man grow up and let that **** go.

Manny and nonito handpicked their opponents and they lost, not because they took risks, because you and others overrate their overall abilities because they have above average power. They just weren't better than the JMM and Rigo.

Pretty good list. As someone said, we can argue the order all day, but the names on the list are deserving.

The list is what it is but I believe you could easily swap Rigondeaux and Wlad. Don't get me wrong, I believe Rigondeaux is the best boxer out there not named Mayweather but I would think you have to take his record as a professional into account. Beating Donaire was great but Rico Ramos and Teon Kennedy are not world beaters. Can anyone remember the last time Wlad lost a fight? And I guess Mares is just a dirt bag all of a sudden since he lost. Who else had a greater run in boxing in the last 2 or 3 years than Mares? Only person close was Donaire IMO, he lost too, yet his name is still in the mix.

Dunn yer DONE, that was the most dumbasz post I have read in a year. I said ZERO..........0.............about no other fighter than ggg an jr.

suck it up mang, and take the truth about yer JR,

                    look at this :

                    RAY LEONARD:
I think there are too many self governing bodies out there, there’s just too many that are confusing to the public and to the fans. I’m a fighter and it’s confusing to me. I think champions should fight champions and unify the division, it’s more than just money, it’s bragging rights. Back in the day when we fought we fought for pride too, we fought for the money no question about that but we fought for pride, you stood up for the championship that you owned.

My sentiments exactly !!!!! Leonard said it best.

WHICH Leonard would JR have fought ? The Leonard that fought Hearns or the Leonard that fought Terry Norris ?

I say Jr based on his HISTORY of choosing opponents would have fought the Leonard that fought Terry NORRIS and ducked the Leonard that fought Hearns

                    What say ye ? LOL

for the invite for argument on the WHO's Who list.

First My Fear: Is that JR will take the opportunity to fight Sergio Martinez NOW that SM is NO longer prime but prime for the nice taking.

When placing a man as P4P, I would rather NOT read his papers and declare him but who he has faced and when he faced them. ITs kind of like sitting on a hill side in North Ga mountains with a coonhound and boy he is Awesome looking, and you have his 6th generation Pedigree with Champions in each generation behind him including his sire and dam but HE is a DUD !!!!!!

Some will call this hate, which is most humorous, LOL

ITs not hate, I just don't like being CONNED, grins

Yes JR is undefeated on record but by actual punches landed and watching the fighters in the ring JR lost two fights. Castillo 1 and ODH. I invite all to watch and count the punches landed by JR on ODH and be honest with yer melted heart and bowed head you will have to give ODH that fight.

But one thing I have learned in the last few years more than ever is that Money talks louder than the sport !!!!!! Money has always been important, DUH , this is and has always been prize fightin, but now a days money has taken more preeminence and fighters are graded more about how much money they generate than who they are actually fighting.

To give Mr JR the main spot, it grieves me to KNOW that he ducked prime elites that would have made him Great in my eyes but chose lesser fighters in stead. Why make a pedigree off of Little fighters, and one wee little fighter and then cheat on him to make the weight he wanted to insure a win ????? How can YOU justify that ? Why didn't he fight Mosley or at least PUSH to fight Mosely when Mosley won over ODH 1 ? instead of waiting until he couldn't pull the nice trigger no longer or take advantage of a Corrales basket case ???????

                      Same ol Same ol S###
