Danny wasn't forced into anything. You have no bare facts. You picked Matthysse, he lost, and now you're saying what you're saying because you're forced to, lmao!
Then he has the nerve to say "I'm not a Lucas fan" but he talks like the rest of the guys on here who are salty that he lost. I always felt Matthysse is a solid fighter but mostly relied on his Punch and I was right. All through my predictions of this fight I was on point. Matthysse fans swore up and down Garcia would not make it to the 12th and now all they do is b!tc# about the out come. Can't and don't respect that.

I have to repeat: I like both Lucas and Danny as fighters... (The fact that I like Lucas more as a "person" has nothing to do with boxing)... I would have scored the fight 116-112 for Garcia -- who displayed solid champion skills...

Danny was forced into this fight as long as he and his team did not answer in anyway to team Lucas's calls for this fight... One day, Schaefer simply announced the Garcia-Matthysse as undercard for FMJr.-Alvarez... These are the facts.
Some of this poster are just holding on anything they can. I even read some posts saying that Garcia spit out his mouth piece on purpose to take a break. Saying that the reef stopped the fight immediately to save Danny, when the ref waited +7 seconds to stop the fight and give Danny the mouth piece, although Danny never was hurt by Matthysse power. It was a great and rough fight from both fighters. Danny just fought the right way and people should give him his props. Danny's abilities scored him the W not luck, luck doesn't bust up a jaw or brakes an orbital bone. Danny could have finished the career of Matthysse last Saturday, no one knows what permanent damage that orbital bone is going to have, now every fighter is going to target that eye. I like Matthysse and wish the best for his career but he maybe will end retiring like Margarito (just comparing the orbital bone damage, because this two have nothing in common, one is humble and straight and the other one is just a cheater and and a disgrace for the sport).

What I'm saying?
Look at the P4P thread on this site -- I'm ranking Danny at #4...
You said Danny was forced into his fight with Matthysse. How the hell do you even utter something like that knowing that we all know that you're lying?
Look. If you broke your hand during the fight...or sprained an ankle...or got cut by a headbutt, then you could argue if it was an reasonable excuse. However, Lucas' eye got damaged/shut because he was punched in the face. A PUNCH.
They might as well just say: "Well, if Danny hadn't thrown any punches, we would've won". Both statements are equally ******.
Lucas lost. He didn't even complain about it. Move on.
I picked Matthysse to win. That eye though was caused from a Garcia punch, not a headbutt etc. So Lucas really has no argument here. It was a clean win.
When I watched the fight again. Two things sprung to mind. 1: Garcia picked his spots and fought correctly and hard in spurts. He made Matthysse hesitant. 2: Matthysse had no plan B. He never went for it all until the last round. He should have actually let it all hang out sooner. He could have gotten knocked out in the process, but it was worth the try.
