I thought that Garcia was never going to fight, had a look of horror after Peterson, and had no chance of winning. I'm talking too fast. I thought that Matthysse was supposed to exterminate Danny. Mannie Fresh said, "If he dies he dies"! JSDF and FerFal were prophets before Sept 14.

It's pointless saying he would have won if his eye got busted because at the end of the day Matthysse eye getting busted was the result of accurate punching. Bitching about it makes about as much sense as bitching about a fighter getting his senses scrambled by a punch.

For the record I don't think the result would have been different, people say that Garcia started to perform better when Matthysse eye closed, however they overlook that Garcia is a fighter who adapts. He will start to look more impressive in the mid rounds.

They still saying it but now about the rematch, Danny a coward unless he gives Lucas 5 rematches with no drug testing and Danny isn't allowed to hit near the eyes.

People just need to admit that Garcia has a great chin. Even before the eye, Lucas was landing flush to Garcia's chin and had no effect

Trainer Luis "Cuty" Barrera is confident his boxer, Lucas Matthysse (34-3, 32KOs), would have scored a knockout over Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs) if his right eye wasn't damaged in the sixth round.

On September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Matthysse was ahead 58-56 on the scorecards after six, but during that sixth round is when Garcia landed a good punch that practically closed Matthysse's eye. Matthysse's trainer is unwittingly affirming the strategy that Garcia's team employed. They believed that Lucas would not be able to produce when he was faced with adversity, and it happened exactly as they said. The experience of never having faced that kind of adversity did him in.

Matthysse is overrated. Anybody with movement and boxing skill at the elite level will beat Matthysse.
