Trainer Luis "Cuty" Barrera is confident his boxer, Lucas Matthysse (34-3, 32KOs), would have scored a knockout over Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs) if his right eye wasn't damaged in the sixth round.
On September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Matthysse was ahead 58-56 on the scorecards after six, but during that sixth round is when Garcia landed a good punch that practically closed Matthysse's eye. The entire fight changed from that point forward, and Garcia fought his way to a twelve round unanimous decision to retain his WBC/WBA junior welterweight titles.
