Why so many excuses in boxing? Cuts, swelling and things of that nature happen in boxing all the time. When they happen as a result of punches, there should be no complaints. Both guys gave it their all. Danny was the better fighter on that night. Matthysse is an honorable fighter though. I haven't heard him complaining. He said before the fight that if danny beat him legit, he would give him credit.

Danny fought a great fight and I had him beating Lucas. Lucas, to his credit, hasn't made any excuses about the loss.

But would I want to see both men fight each other again? Absolutely. Even though I can see Garcia beating a two-eyed Matthysse, I think the fight was close enough to warrant a rematch and the damage to Matthysse's eye certainly leaves me wondering how the fight might have been different in the late rounds. Frankly, I was surprised Lucas was able to fight as well as he did with an eye that was so close to being fully closed.

I'm not sure why some are so hostile to the idea of a rematch here. Marquez and Pacquiao fought four times. The first three were close affairs and the last was a decisive win for Marquez, yet you still have some fans calling for a fifth fight. Garcia-Matthysse II makes a lot more sense than a Marquez-Pacquiao V.

Because we know what you guys will pull, if the rematch is within 3 points you'll call for another one. Danny took the fight and he won, that's all he owed Lucas, Lucas and his fans are so entitled that it's funny if he gets no rematch.

Lucas didn't dominate Danny period even before the eye swole up. I feel Danny will beat him even easier next time around.
